I'm still playing catch up from all the wonderful weddings and portrait sessions over the last couple of months. Life has just been so busy lately. While editing and delivering photos to my clients in a timely fashion has continued undisturbed, the blogging component of my business has suffered a bit...sorry folks who are kind enough to stop by this blog and see what I'm up to, please don't give up on me yet.

Here's a wonderful engagement session with Erin and Will. I've knew Erin in college at UW and we'd lost touch until I got a wonderful email telling me that she was getting married! She and Will are so, so good together. I had a great time at this session and at their wedding (blog post coming soon, that's how behind I am on updating this!). In fact, I think their wedding will go down as one of my all-time favorites.

This was an extra special wedding for me. My friend Hilary found and married the love of her life, Stephen, in Dallas, Texas. So I packed up my camera gear and hopped on a plane! I experienced how truly unpredictable Texas weather can be when I arrived on a beautiful, warm sunny day and left just a couple of days later on a cold, snowy day. Hilary and Stephen are truly a fabulous couple and I'm thrilled that I got to be there as they began this new chapter in their lives.

I'm sad to say this was my last session with the "S" family because they're moving out of state. I've had the privilege of photographing this family several times over the past couple of years and it's been wonderful to see their beautiful daughter grow up and meet their adorable son! You've heard me say this before and you'll hear me say it time and time again (well, by "hearing", I mean reading :) I'm so very thankful for each and every one of my amazing clients. It truly is an honor to photograph moments in your lives, from a wedding day to a family day at the beach. I consider it a privilege to be invited into these moments.

I'm thinking of this because several months ago I had a wonderful time hanging out with Susie and Joey (pictured below), two of my fantastic wedding clients who are now happy and thriving not-quite-so-newlyweds. As I was going through their images in preparation for this post I was reminded that what I do isn't just about setting up that one perfect angle or pose, but about relationship and I'm so fortunate to enjoy ongoing relationships with so many of my clients. I love that I (and my camera) get to witness to people's lives as they change and grow.

I'm quite behind on blogging and I fear it may not be until summer that I really catch up (but I'm not behind in getting clients their images :) For those of you wondering why I'm behind, let me fill you in. In addition to my awesome life as a photographer, I'm also studying to work with children and teens with disabilities as a school psychologist. This school year has been more hectic for me than usual because I'm also doing a full-time internship in the schools. I've been quite the busy bee since I've still been photographing weddings and portraits. My hope is to catch up soon, so be on the lookout for new posts :) Happily, graduation is in sight and I look forward to continuing to do two things I'm passionate about. Thanks for your patience and support.

I had the opportunity to take the S Family's Christmas photos back in 2007. I was excited when they called me again to schedule a photo session now that their beautiful daughter Fiona is a bit older, it is so much fun to see how she's grown! My friends Kami and Shannon visited Seattle recently and we had a great time hanging out and catching up! The three of us met in elementary school, so it's been fun to see how our lives have unfolded and changed over the years. Kami's life recently changed dramatically with the welcome arrival of a beautiful and sweet little girl, congratulations Kami and Ben! A beautiful day + a fabulous couple so very in love = one amazing wedding! I had a fantastic time shooting Kevin and Melissa's wedding. They are such kind, genuine people and I know they have such a bright future ahead of them. I also got to see some former wedding clients (can you spot them in the wedding party?), which was so fun for me.

We had a quick minute to play around with sparklers while the limo was being packed...this was as close as we got to a heart, we also got a great infinity sign which was very appropriate to the occasion :)

Last month I had the opportunity to work with a wonderful couple, Lexi and Eric. They married at the Lake Wilderness Lodge, which overlooks a beautiful lake and gorgeous trees full of Fall color! They were a joy to work with and they head over heels in love :) Lexi and Eric had so many wonderful details that made the day special, from the pictures of beloved family members no longer with them attached to their boutonniere and bouquet, to the adorable Shrek-ears they wore when they entered the reception, I loved it. They also entrusted the day to one of my favorite wedding coordinators, Laura Gram, who ensured the day run smoothly and allowed Lexi and Eric to focus on enjoying their fabulous party!

After the Wedding: Chrissie & Aaron

I've had a fantastic time working with Chrissie and Aaron and was thrilled that they wanted to do a post-wedding session! We went all over Fremont and Gasworks and got lots of stares, honks and congratulations in the process...I suppose most people don't walk around town in a wedding dress on a weeknight! We weren't sure how much trashing of Chrissie's gorgeous dress we were going to engage in, but Chrissie said she tends to live in the moment and was open to possibilities :) By the end of the evening Chrissie's dress was had a striking black border around the edges and was heavy with water! It was well worth it because we got beautiful images and the dress should be good as new after a trip to the dry cleaner.

Stephanie and Heath had a gorgeous wedding day aboard the Skansonia in August. The weather was beautiful and we had a breathtaking view of the skyline all night long! Stephanie's hair appointment ended up running a couple hours late, so we weren't able to get the variety of bride and groom shots that I usually strive for, but it all worked out and we still got lots of great stuff from their special day! Koply and Dana had a beautiful wedding at Lake Wilderness Lodge in August with a vintage Paris theme (which Dana pulled off flawlessly!). Stephanie, Heath and I headed down to Pike Place Market and Gasworks for some fun engagement photos a few weeks ago. We had a blast walking around on a beautiful Seattle night and joking around...they have an awesome sense of humor and their love for each other is so apparent. I'm excited to photograph their wedding at the Skansonia this month, it's coming up soon :)

Married: Rachel & Kirk

I'm behind on blogging again (but not behind on getting images back to clients - the most important part!). Here's some pictures and a slideshow of a wedding I shot a few weeks ago in Everett. Rachel and Kirk are such a sweet and gracious couple and their wedding was absolutely lovely. I especially loved the sunset pictures overlooking Puget Sound with all the sailboats in the background...what a gorgeous scene for a gorgeous couple! Enjoy :)

I had a great weekend enjoying a rare bit of sunshine and three fabulous photo sessions. The first was with my friend Nicki and her family at Seahurst Park. Nicki is also trying to get her start in photography and may accompany me to some weddings this summer as a second shooter.

Gracie just didn't want to sit still...

Next I was off to a photo shoot with my friend Leah, who wanted some updated pictures of herself, she looked beautiful...

The weekend was topped off by an engagement session with Cheryl and Devin at the Olympic Sculpture Park. I love engagement sessions because I get to spend more time getting to know my clients before their big day. We had a wonderful time talking and wandering around trying to find some non-crowded spots to shoot. Here's some photos of the lovely couple:

I had the opportunity for a fun photo shoot with my friends Lisa and Peter, their beautiful daughter, and Peter's parents and sister. It was a mild, overcast day (perfect from a photographer's perspective) and we headed to Kubota Gardens. I love photographing little kids, and this was a dream session as this little girl was so happy and joyful the entire time!

Ok, guilty as charged...I've done a terrible job keeping my up blog the past few months! While winter is a slightly slower time of year for me as a photographer, other areas of my life have been keeping me busy! So, I'll skip all the excuses and get right to some images! I had a couple of beautiful weddings earlier in the winter and several awesome family photo sessions...but I'll start with the most recent stuff. Last month I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Tasha and Dominic at the Lake Union Cafe. It was a casual afternoon ceremony with family and close friends followed by a fun evening at Jillian's Billiards Club. Words that come to mind about Tasha and Dominic (and their family and friends) are: genuine, warm, and funny. After we were officially done with the photography portion of the evening they invited me to hang out and shoot some pool, so I played a couple of games with some new friends (fortunately there are no pictures of me attempting to play pool...it's not a natural talent of mine!). Without further ado, here's a slideshow of their wedding day and the post-wedding session we did the following day in downtown Seattle.

Fall Family Fun Pt. 2

I went down to Seward Park for to meet up with this fantastic family! We had a great time walking (and sometimes running) around, playing in the fall leaves and skipping stones. Not only are their kids adorable, but they're naturals in front of the camera, which made my job easy. It was hard to pick my favorites from this session, but here's a small sampling:

Fall Family Fun Pt. 1

I love shooting in the fall with all the leaves, beautiful sunshine (when it decides to show), and the crisp air. A couple weekends ago, all these combined for two great family portrait sessions. I spent the first part of my day with the Johnson family. They're a fun, energetic and loving family with three very active boys! We met at Saint Edwards Park in Kenmore and alternated between family photo time and some good old fashioned play time! As you can imagine with three energetic boys, it was a challenge to get everyone in one place, but we did it :) I had a great time getting to know this fun and dynamic family, here's a little sampling:

Married: Jessica & Eli

I had such a great time working with Jessica and Eli. We really hit it off, so I knew we'd have a blast. I always tell people I meet with that in my book genuinely clicking with your wedding photographer is of the utmost importance, and it makes the day so much fun! Jessica and Eli had absolutely gorgeous details everywhere in this stunning autumn themed wedding and her guests had such a great time. They are so obviously in love and make a wonderful couple, I'm sure they have a very bright future! Jessica is also a wedding coordinator and I'd highly recommend her if you're thinking of hiring one for your wedding (they make the day run smoothly and let you enjoy every minute of your day!). I just fall photo sessions... the colors, the leaves, and the chill in the air. I went to Snoqualmie to meet up with Holly and Randy and their two dogs for an awesome engagement session. They are a great couple and I really enjoyed hanging out with them! They're getting married next fall, so we're looking forward to more gorgeous colors at their wedding in 2008.

As you can see, I've been a busy lady this summer! I have been privileged to capture so many wonderful weddings this summer, and this is no exception. Time to share about another beautiful wedding! I had so much fun working with Amanda and Brian. Their ceremony was absolutely stunning; I have been to many ceremonies as a guest or photographer and I must say that this was one of the most heartfelt, unique and original ceremonies I have ever witnessed, I was getting teary! Its always a joy to photograph a couple so utterly in love and at ease with one another, these two are remarkable together and I enjoyed every minute of their gorgeous wedding. This wedding was one of my all-time favorites! When Susie contacted me to photograph her wedding I had already booked two weddings the same weekend and was a bit hesitant, but after talking to her on the phone I knew I couldn't turn it down...we hit it off immediately! She's just one of those people you instantly adore. Then when I met Joey at their engagement session, I knew their wedding was going to be a blast to photograph, as they're both such fun, kind and genuine people. I've also never been so well taken care of at a wedding, not only did they provide a delicious dinner, they also had the caterer make me lunch after my road trip back from Spokane, how sweet is that? Well, enough of my gushing, onto some pictures! It was a very difficult task to pick which ones to show, as there's so many I love. I'm back from my wonderful vacation! My husband and I went sailing with our only plans being to follow the wind, which led us to the Gulf Islands in Canada! We had a great trip and coming home is always a bit bittersweet. Fortunately, I got to work on the pictures from this awesome wedding, so it made the transition back to work easier ;) Michelle and Nick were so much fun to work with! Their wedding was simply stunning and their guests were so much fun. The first dances with their parents were especially beautiful and emotional, I found myself choking back tears! Going on vacation!

Stephanie & Steve's Wedding - Sunset Sailing

I'm skipping the sneak peek images because I've been too busy to post lately! So, instead we're going right to the slideshow. Stephanie and Steve married on a beautiful sailboat in Seattle, it was so fun and unique! Their ceremony was perfect for them and it was very touching to see how happy, joyful and in love they are. I'm so glad they asked me to photograph their wedding, it was a lot of fun and I got to go on a gorgeous evening sail...two things I love :)

She and Jim are a fantastic match and I'm so excited for them and their new life together! 3 weddings in 3 days!

I had quite the busy weekend... I photographed three beautiful and unique weddings this weekend and I have the blisters on my feet to prove it! My weekend began with Stephanie and Steve's unique wedding on a sailboat. Their closest friends and family joined them on a chartered sail from Seattle. Their intimate and emotionally rich ceremony was beautiful! Then my husband and I set off early the next morning for Spokane to photograph Michelle and Nick's gorgeous wedding. Their wedding was held on the beautiful grounds of EJ Robert's Mansion and was a rich celebration of their thirteen years together! The next morning my husband and I met up with some college friends for a yummy breakfast before heading back toward Seattle to photograph Susie and Joey's stunning wedding at the Olson Mansion. Their wedding was absolutely lovely and there was pure joy all around as these two tied the knot! I had quite the marathon, but it was so worth it! Thanks to all three couples for letting me be part of your special days :)

This was an especially fun photo session for me because Jen and Daniel have been friends since our days at UW! They have a beautiful lab named Ollie and we all met up at Lincoln Park for some family photos. My husband came with and acted as dog entertainer when we were taking pictures of just Jen and Daniel. After the session we went out to dinner...a fun evening all around!
