Sara & Luke's Wedding: Sneak Peek

Last weekend I had the pleasure of shooting Luke and Sara's wedding at the Columbia Winery. We started with their first look at their place in Belltown and then went to a few locations downtown before heading out to the Columbia Winery in Woodinville. These two are so in love and it was such a pleasure to photograph them! I had a fantastic time at their wedding and I must say that they know how to throw a great party...the dance floor was packed all night! It was a hard choice, but here are a few of their images. More to come soon!

Happy Anniversary to us :)

Two years ago today my husband and I were married at the Hall at Fauntleroy in West Seattle on a gorgeous and HOT summer day. I often hear bride's say that they don't remember a lot of their wedding because it went by so fast. However, even though the day went by very quickly I remember it so well and it was the best day of my life so far.

Married: Sarah & Grant

Last week I photographed Sarah & Grant's beautiful wedding on the Skansonia Ferry overlooking the Seattle skyline. It was a wonderful (and hot!) day and Sarah worked very hard to make the day special with lots of small touches of detail. Here's a sneak peek at some of their images...

UPDATE: Their pictures are ready and its slideshow time :)

New Proofing Site

I am excited to announce that I have a new proofing site that I've started using for all new weddings and photo sessions this month. If your wedding or portrait session took place prior to July, your images are still available on the old site and will be up for a few more months. I'll send out an email letting you know when the old site is getting close to expiring. So, without further ado, the new proofing site is:

http://amberroberts.instraproofs.com

There's lots of great features on this site, but one of the things I really love is that orders come directly to me and I fulfill them with my pro lab (that is fantastic, their quality rocks!!) and is shipped directly to the individual who ordered the pictures. This is such a great and easy way for your guests to purchase their favorite prints and you don't have to do a thing :)

Katie & Eric married on Lummi Island

7/7/07 was the big day for weddings! I was fortunate to get to travel to Lummi Island to shoot Katie and Eric's beautiful wedding. Prior to meeting them I'd never even heard of Lummi, which is a peaceful and beautiful paradise near Bellingham. Here's just a few teasers from their day.

UPDATE: Here's a slideshow of some of their wedding images:

Sunset Sail

If you know my husband Andrew, you can recognize that instant spark in his eye and smile on his face when the wind starts blowing! He's been sailing since he was four years old and there are few places he'd rather be on a windy day than on a boat. I on the other hand, grew up motor boating, to which Andrew is likely to reply "I'm sorry". Yes, there are many differences between the two, not the least of which is the vocabulary (clew, winch, cunningham, tack, jibe, halyard...who came up with these words?!). There's nothing like the peaceful tranquility of being out on the water under sail and I'd never go back to motor boating (although I'll admit to having some weak moments after tacking for the tenth time in five minutes that I do miss some of the convenience of simply turning a steering wheel!).

We don't have a boat of our own right now, but we do get to borrow some from the UW Sailing Club that Andrew was heavily involved in during our undergraduate days. Last night we impulsively decided to take a keel boat out and watch the sunset (plans to sail over to Kirkland for dinner were also involved, but didn't pan out...long story!). It was a beautiful and romantic night!

These were taken by my little point and shoot Canon Powershot A95. I wish I would have had my dSLR but I'm not allowed to take my good equipment on a boating I'm crewing (another long story!).
